Belarus - Monday updatePosted by Phil Marshall on 15/08/2017 08:04
Today the team have worked very hard and achieved a huge amount. The weather has been warm and sunny but not too hot. They have moved between 10-11 tons worth of soil by hand. This included digging out the base for the new sheltered extension they are building for the play area. Setting the steel posts in concrete ready for the shelter roof. To get up to the play area there was a 5 foot rise bank which the smaller children found really difficult. They have dug out a 7 foot width along the grass bank ready to create steps on one side, a rail in the middle and a ramp will be on the other side. This is all levelled ready for the next stage. From the top of the steps they have dug a pathway ready for the block paving which will go from the steps to the play area. They have also levelled out all the extra soil ready for new grass seed. Finally they have also removed an old roof of an old shelter ready for the new one to be put on.
Bernard and Danny Abram have been at the holiday club at St Peters House Orphanage today. Bernard has been teaching the kids Lancashire brogue! They loved it so much they are going back tomorrow. Some found tonight’s dinner of half a chicken covered in garlic and chips after a starter a little too much food.
Please pray for all the materials to arrive on time, that the weather is not too hot and that the blisters and bruised muscles heal quickly.
