Lunch Aid Host

To offer their home as a venue once a year to host Lunch Aid. To provide a simple lunch of Bread rolls, Cheese and fruit and a hot drink. To collect Donations to pass over to the Lunch Aid Coordinator in aid of Charitable causes or emergency situations. (Cost of refreshments can be taken from Donations)

Responsible To: Lunch Aid Coordinator
Time Committment: One 2 hour session a year
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • To set up a simple buffet of Bread rolls, cheese and fruit and hot drinks in their own home once a year so that members of the congregation can meet socially and donate to charitable or emergency causes. (Numbers attending are usually between 18 and 35)
  • To collect Donations given and pass them over to the Lunch Aid Coordinator
  • To complete the monthly Lunch Aid Diary and pass on the Lunch Aid mugs and Urn to the next host

A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • Desires to serve Jesus and to commit time and talents to this ministry
  • Honest and Dependable
  • Be willing to open your house to both those you know and those who are strangers to you
  • Is friendly, patient and has good relational skills
  • Is a good listener and can communicate clearly with others
  • Has a spirit of love, compassion and kindness for those in our own church and community and for those suffering, hunger, poverty, illness and from natural disasters world wide

In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • Initial and ongoing help, advice and support will be provided by the Lunch Aid Coordinator
