Children and Young People's Team (Group Leader-JC's)

To support, guide and encourage young people (aged 11 to 13) in their life and faith.

Responsible To: Children and Young People's Coordinator (Joanna Marshall)
Time Committment: Wednesday 6.45-9.15 and/or Sunday 10.30-12.30
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • Meet for prayer with other leaders before sessions
  • Attend sessions on a regular basis
  • Lead a termly meeting to reflect on previous sessions, to plan, pray and discuss sessions planned for the following term
  • Help set up and clear away equipment
  • Encourage & support volunteers
  • Ensure that registers, registration documentation and other administrative duties are kept up to date
  • Oversee the resources and budget for JCs

A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • Strong communication skills especially with children aged 11 to 13
  • Able to maintain confidentiality at all times, reporting any concerns to Joanna Marshall
  • Attend relevant training sessions and courses eg. Child Protection training
  • Familiar with the Child Protection policy and prepared to follow appropriate policies and procedures relating to this

In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • Initial training and ongoing support arranged by the Children and Young People's Coordinator
  • Regular meetings with Joanna Marshall to discuss concerns, resources, staffing & future plans
  • Possible training opportunities throughout the year
