Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for March.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

There will be a marriage preparation day on 6th March for couples who are to be married at St John’s this year. Please pray for these couples as they contemplate the blessings and responsibilities that marriage brings. Pray for open minds to receive the wisdom that the Holy Spirit brings in nurturing relationships with loved ones. Pray for long, loving marriages for them, and for the Lord’s presence with Joanna and Phil as they lead.

Monday

Continue to pray for those who come to the monthly healing services which this month takes place on 10th March. Pray that, by His Spirit, Jesus will reach out just as , over 2000 years ago, He brought healing to the sick, hope to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit, and peace and forgiveness to those who were troubled and burdened with guilt or fear. Thank God that, if we let Him, Jesus will restore and renew all who call on Him. Pray that whoever seeks Him will receive the blessings of His peace.

Tuesday

Pray for all the preparations for Palm Sunday and Easter time in our church. Pray that everything done will be Christ centred, giving praise and glory to Him, who is the servant king but also the King of kings. Pray for renewed revelation in the eyes ears and hearts of all who minister and all who receive as we approach the coming Kingdom. Thank Jesus that though we are faithful in so little, He faithfully walked to the cross.

Wednesday

Please offer prayers and thanks for all who faithfully minister in the kitchen, providing coffee and hospitality week by week. These people have a special gift requiring servant hearts. Praise God also for the beauty of our churchyard and the hands that tend it, so often unseen, and too often unacknowledged. At this time of year especially, our church garden lifts our spirits and brings joy to our eyes. Thank God for the love shown through His servants throughout the year.

Thursday

There is a vacancy for a deputy head teacher at Lordsgate School, and interviews to create a shortlist will take place on 24th March. Pray for wisdom and discernment for Richard and the other school governors as they meet with the candidates. Pray that it will be possible to appoint a suitable and godly person to fill this role, which is so important for the wellbeing of the children, and pray that our Lord will send just the right person to join the team at Lordsgate.

Friday

Thank God for the ministry and work of the Mothers’ Union and Women’s Fellowship in our church. Pray especially for those who prepare and lead the meetings month by month. Ask the Lord to continue to bless them with His Holy Spirit as they meet, pray and worship together, and thank Him for their faithfulness to their members in sickness and in health. Ask Him that faith might be deepened and spirits blessed as we go through Lent.

Saturday

As we journey through Lent towards Easter, pray that we may each be resolved to follow Christ more faithfully, to be more disciplined in our walk with Him. Rather than giving something up, pray that we may give more back to Him who gave everything for us, by spending more time with Him in devotion and prayer and being more aware of the needs of others above our own needs. Let us realise the length, depth and breadth of the blessings received through Christ’s sacrifice, and carefully consider how we can use this time to respond.
