About Brian
Brian was born in Aughton, West Lancashire in 1942, the third son of the village grocer and baker. Having attended church all of his life, it was at the age of 40 on the death of his mother in being challenged as to what the meaning of life was, that he came to a living faith and committed his life to the Lord.
Brian has had two secular jobs having spent 20 years in the family grocery business and 20 years as area manager for the South African Co-operative Citrus Exchange (Outspan).
Early retirement gave Brian the opportunity to fulfil a lifetime ambition to train for the ordained ministry in the Church of England.
He was ordained Deacon at St. John's in July 2000 and ordained Priest at Liverpool Cathedral on Trinity Sunday 2001 to serve as Ordained Local Minister at St. John's.
Brian is married to Sue who is a great support and encourager. They have 2 married daughters and 4 grand children.
Brian's ministry is wide ranging but he sees his gift as pastoral, reaching out to people in the community with the love of Christ, praying and trusting that through this 'Pastoral Evangelism' many will come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ and commit themselves to Him.
1 Timothy 1:12 "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service".
