Remembrance Sunday is a deeply significant day for church and community and St John the Baptist Burscough aim to mark the day in a respectful and worshipful manner. We recognise that the most appropriate way to mark this solemn occasion is through acts of remembrance organised by the Royal British Legion at Ringtail on Armistice Day and at the War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday afternoon. Along with the other churches in Burscough we fully support the legion in these acts and will participate as they desire.

With that in mind we have developed our service at 10:50am to mark Remembrance Sunday in a way that engages with all the ages of our congregation and community. We will display the names of the fallen on our screens and will reflect and pray about the sacrifice of many. In this way we welcome all to a respectful service which complements other local acts of remembrance.
