Pastoral Team (Coordinator-Healing Team)

To coordinate all the Healing Teams at St John's by issuing three monthly rota's for the Sunday Healing Team, Tuesday Healing Team and the Wednesday Monthly Healing Team. To ensure members are present as per rota or have swapped with someone else from the Team and that this is communicated to the Church Warden on duty. To be an active member of the Healing Team on a rota basis.

Responsible To: Pastoral Coordinator (Jenny Cosslett)
Time Committment: Administration time, as required plus one service a month on rota
                                                                                                                
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and distribute a three monthly rota of Healing Team members for the three Healing Teams
  • Check Healing Team members are available as per rota or have arranged cover with another member of the Team and that the Church Warden/Deputy Warden on duty at the service is made aware of the change.
  • Work with the Pastoral Coordinator (Jenny Cosslett) to find and train new members for the Healing Teams


A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • A conviction of the truth and power of Christ's Healing ministry in today's world. A belief that Jesus can and does perform physical, emotional and spiritual miracles of Healing through each one of us as we are used in His service.
  • An understanding of Healing ministry taught through scripture and a willingness to explore and develop this further.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Be sympathetic, caring, compassionate,non judgemental and sensitive
  • Able to deal with other's pain and fear as they relate their worries and problems
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Must be an experienced member of St John's Healing Team
  • Able to feel comfortable and confident in praying for Healing in Jesus' name, by the power of the Holy Spirit
  • Have a strong and commited personal prayer life


In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • Initial Training provided by Pastoral Coordinator with ongoing support and advice provided.
  • Prepared to provide training and support to other members of the Healing Team, with support from the Pastoral Coordinator
