Hospitality Team (Team Member-Weekday Tea/Coffee Team)

To provide refreshments in the West End during the week

Responsible To: Hospitality Team Co-ordinator (Jean Bailey)
Time Committment: 2 hours daily on a rota basis
                                                                                                                
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • Welcome everyone visiting Church in a warm, friendly and appropriate manner and converse with them as appropriate
  • Prepare and serve tea/coffee/juice/biscuits as required
  • Set up tables and chairs in the West End prior to opening up the Church, if required
  • Set out sugar, milk, biscuits on each table
  • Ensure coffee noticeboards are positioned at the front and side entrances to Church and that these are taken in again afterwards
  • Wash up all used crockery and utensils
  • Take tea towels home to launder and then return to church, within a reasonable timescale
  • Ensure kitchen and West End areas are left clean and tidy
  • Ensure all boilers and lights are switched off, all doors securely locked and alarm activated
  • Liaise with Hospitality Team Co-ordinator regarding purchase of supplies of tea, coffee, biscuits etc.


A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • Warm, welcoming, people friendly personality
  • Ability to liaise in a diplomatic and sensitive manner with all points of contact
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality
  • Able to work with minimal supervision


In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • Initial training with Hospitality Team Co-ordinator and/or a member of the Hospitality Team
