Worship Team (Team Member-Administrative Support)

To support St John's worship team by co-ordinating and communicating the planning of hymns/songs for services and organising the worship resources. No musical ability is required but an interest would be an advantage. Time commitments are very flexible but include an element which is required on a weekly basis.

Responsible To: Worship Team Leader (Peter Short)
Time Committment: 2 hours per month
                                                                                                                
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • On a weekly basis: Obtain a list of all hymns/songs being used in the following week from the worship leader for a given service
  • Distribute song sets to music group members and to the AV contact for the given week
  • On a monthly basis: Obtain a listing of all new songs likely to be introduced in the coming month from Peter Short. Photocopy new songs and insert into the music group files
  • Maintain the current songs in the music files and perform periodic checks to keep files up to date
  • Obtain availability of band members one month in advance where possible and distribute to group leaders to aid planning of services


A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • Have good organisational and communication skills
  • Have regular access to email
  • A basic understanding of photocopier (or willingness to learn)
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality
  • A commitment to regular prayer


In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • One-on-one time spent with worship group leader(s) to provide training and insight to how the music group corner is organised and is to be maintained
  • Details given as to how music files are currently ordered and maintained
